Project Introduction

EbikeGo, known for its electric bikes, wanted to make its operations greener and smoother across India. They had a big task at hand: their essential 2000-page SOP

Standard Operating Procedure) book was too long and in English, which didn’t work for all their team members sprawled across India. They came to TRC looking for a practical way to share this knowledge with every employee, be it a mechanic in North India or a manager in the South. In 2017, we got to work with EbikeGo to create a solution that would make learning and following their detailed guidelines a lot easier for everyone involved.

Objectives

Our objectives list was short but daunting:

  • • To transform the SOP manual into an accessible format for non-English speaking employees and vendors.

  • • To condense the extensive content without losing critical information.

  • • To create visual content that communicates procedures effectively to a varied audience.

  • • To produce a series of educational videos in Hindi and English, catering to the linguistic diversity within the workforce.

  • • To facilitate quicker and more effective SOP assimilation across the company.

Design Process
and Development

TRC’s approach was methodical and centred on clarity. We distilled the exhaustive SOP into a more manageable 100-200 page document, ensuring the essence and critical components remained intact. Key points were then visually highlighted to underscore their importance. This simplification process paved the way for crafting engaging and concise scripts, which served as the foundation for 70 short videos. These videos were designed to be basic yet informative, breaking down complex processes into understandable segments for everyone, from mechanics to managers.

Visual Strategy

In this pivotal phase, TRC’s creative expertise shone through. We recognized that the power of visual learning could transcend language barriers and crafted videos that were not just informative but instantly comprehensible. The visual aids were designed with a keen eye for cultural relevance and ease of understanding, ensuring that each frame served a purpose in the learning journey of EbikeGo’s diverse team.

What we achieved

  • • Reduction of the SOP from 2000 pages to short videos resulted in an efficient training tool.

  • • Creation of 70 dual-language videos, ensuring wide accessibility and understanding.
